Mona Schewitz is the diasporist drag diva, the bubbe of burlesque…
Meet Mona
Mona Schewitz is a tall drink of grape juice on an unseasonably hot day. You can find her on stages, subway stations, protests, and picket lines across the tri-state area, teaching revolutionary Yiddish phrases, leading chants, and making a ruckus.
Mona has performed on stages such as Brooklyn’s Littlefield, House of Yes, and the Broadway-Lafayette subway station. She was selected to be a member of the Brooklyn Arts Exchange Drag Performance: Between & Beyond Gender Fall 2025 cohort, soon to be the subject of a documentary film from Madhouse Films.
Mona is a founding member of the radical Jewish draglesque collective, 8 Oily Dykes, creating collaborative, participatory performance spectacles around Jewish holidays and raising money for mutual aid efforts.
Follow Mona on Instagram, and book her for your next drag show, protest, or Passover Seder.
